CEPA Decoded: Lower Tariffs, Bigger Markets - strengthens Oman India business Relationship
India and Oman Sign Historic CEPA
Muscat, Oman – India and Oman have signed a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) to boost trade, investment, and services cooperation, strengthening strategic ties between the two nations.
The pact provides tariff concessions, with Oman eliminating duties on over 98% of Indian exports and India liberalising 78% of imports from Oman, covering key sectors like textiles, pharmaceuticals, and engineering goods.
CEPA also enhances services access and professional mobility, allowing skilled professionals and contractual service suppliers extended stays, fostering business collaboration across ICT, education, and health.
Bilateral trade of over $10 billion and strong people-to-people ties are expected to grow, marking a milestone in India-Gulf economic relations.
